Quick answer

The 2 ft four-panel is 52 by 23.5 inches, the 2 ft eight-panel is 103 by 23.5 inches and the 3 ft four-panel is 52 by 35.5 inches. Each panel is about 13 inches wide. If you want a low screen behind a sofa, along a wall or around a litter box, one of these. If you want privacy from a person standing, they are too short.

Red Lantern 2 ft Short Diamond Weave Fiber Folding Screen, White, 4 Panel

The bullets say it is hand woven with natural plant fiber dyed with vivid color, on a Scandinavian spruce frame, pre-assembled, for privacy, clutter or blocking sunlight. The table lists pine wood and rattan and 52 by 23.5 inches.

Red Lantern 2 ft Short Diamond Weave Fiber Folding Screen, White, 8 Panel

The same screen in eight panels, 103 by 23.5 inches, so each panel is still about 13 inches wide.

Red Lantern 3 ft Short Fiber Weave Folding Screen, White, 4 Panels

A taller version, 52 by 35.5 inches. The page uses the same text and says the panels bend either way.

Worked example: how far each reaches

This is our own arithmetic.

ScreenWidthPanelsPer panelCoverage
2 ft 4 panel52 in413 in52 in
2 ft 8 panel103 in812.9 in103 in
3 ft 4 panel52 in413 in52 in

An 8 panel screen at 103 inches covers a 7 foot sofa back (84 inches) with a gentle zigzag. A 4 panel screen at 52 inches covers a 4 foot wide space, for example a corner of a room, the length of a radiator or a pet crate. At 23.5 inches the screen is lower than a sofa arm, so it is more a visual line than a barrier.

What “wicker” means here

The pages say rattan and natural fiber, woven in a diamond pattern. We have no information about whether the white finish is paint or a dye. Natural fibers dislike water and heat, so keep the screen indoors away from a radiator. For a lighter divider look, see shoji screen divider and, for floor-height barriers, half height room divider.

Questions to ask the seller before you order

  1. What is the finish, and is it safe for a room with a pet or a child?
  2. What is the weight of the 8 panel version?
  3. How does the weave hold up to a cat that scratches?
  4. Does the white yellow over time in sunlight?
  5. Can the panels be separated?

After it arrives

Unfold the screen on a flat floor, check the weave for loose strands and trim any with scissors. Dust with a soft brush. Keep it out of damp rooms.

A second worked scenario: hiding a litter box and a radiator

This is our own arithmetic. A radiator under a window is 36 inches wide and 24 inches high, and a litter box sits beside it, 20 inches wide. The owner wants a low screen that hides both without blocking heat.

OptionWidthHeightCovers 56 in?
2 ft 4 panel52 in23.5 in4 in short
3 ft 4 panel52 in35.5 in4 in short
2 ft 8 panel103 in23.5 inYes, with a long return

A screen in front of a radiator blocks heat, so it needs to stand a hand’s width away, and natural fibre should not touch a hot surface. The 8-panel screen’s 103 inches is wide enough to wrap the radiator and the litter box in an L. The 2 ft height covers the box (about 10 to 15 inches high, our assumption), and the 3 ft height covers a radiator top. Check the heat first: the pages do not say the weave is heat resistant, so we would not put it against a hot radiator.

Reading the listings critically

The three pages are near copies of each other: the same bullets about natural plant fibre, Scandinavian spruce and pre-assembly. The table lists pine wood and rattan while a bullet says spruce, so the wood is not certain. The 2 ft and 3 ft names refer to the screen height in feet, 23.5 and 35.5 inches, and the 8 panel and 4 panel counts give the widths. None says how heavy a screen is or what finish is on the white, and none gives a rating for children or pets. A cat may climb a woven screen, so check the weave strength.

Wicker, rattan and the look

Wicker is a weaving technique and rattan is a material; the pages say rattan and natural fibre. The white diamond weave suits a light, coastal or farmhouse room. In a dark room it can look bright and delicate. Because the screens are short, they work as an accent more than a wall. For a tall wicker look you would need a different product, which we did not find on the first page of results. For a short screen in another style see shoji screen divider and half height room divider.

Humidity and the sun

Natural fibre swells in damp air and fades in strong sun. Do not put a screen in a bathroom, a sunroom or a damp basement. Move it from a window that gets afternoon sun. If the screen warps, it is usually a sign of damp.

Care

Dust with a soft brush or a vacuum with a brush head. Wipe with a barely damp cloth if needed and dry it at once. Snip stray fibres with scissors rather than pulling them.

A last check before you order

Measure the object you want to hide, and add 4 inches on each side. A litter box of 20 inches needs a 28 inch screen section in front of it, which two panels of 13 inches nearly reach and three panels exceed. Measure the height of the thing you want to hide, then pick the screen: 23.5 inches covers most boxes, crates and baskets, and 35.5 inches covers a radiator, a printer or a low shelf.

What a short screen cannot do

It cannot give privacy in a bedroom, because a standing person sees over it. It cannot block light from a window unless the window is low. It cannot hold anything, because the weave is decorative. It cannot stand up to a dog that wants to jump through it. For those jobs, use a tall fabric screen from privacy screen indoor or a bookcase from open bookcase divider. A short white screen is a finishing touch, and it is best used for what it is.

If something on the page is unclear, send the seller a short question before you pay and keep the reply with your order: a written answer about size, weight or material is the best protection if the product arrives different from the listing, and it makes a return straightforward. Keep the packaging until you are sure the divider suits the room.

Mistakes to avoid

Expecting privacy. These are 23.5 and 35.5 inches high.

Using them in a bathroom. Fiber dislikes moisture.

Putting them near a heater. Fiber and wood dry out.

Assuming 8 panels are twice as tall. They are wider, not taller.
