A kids table and chairs set is small furniture for play, crafts and snacks, and the choice is mostly about fit and number. The numbers worth checking are the table height, the table top size (which sets how many children can sit), the number of chairs in the set, the recommended age and the weight limit of each chair. A folding set stores away; a wood set stays out.

We read three Amazon listings on 2026-10-01: the Delta Children MySize table with 2 chairs (ASIN B076MGX5S5), the Delta Children table with 4 chairs (B07FCLPPXQ) and the Flash Furniture Mindy 5-piece folding vinyl set (B00E84CG1K). They are examples of what to compare, not a ranking. Every number comes from the listings, including the age and safety statements, which are the sellers’ claims and not our certification.

For benches and seating for adults, see dining benches and bar stools with backs. For a desk for a student, see mesh study chair.

Table size and how many children

The two Delta sets have a table of 23.5 by 23.5 inches (2 chairs) and 31.5 by 23.5 inches (4 chairs). The Flash Furniture table is 24 by 24 inches with 4 chairs.

That is not a published standard. A 23.5 inch square table gives 4 × 23.5 = 94 inches of edge, which is room for about 94 ÷ 12 ≈ 7 children by that measure, but the table is only 23.5 inches across, so children facing each other overlap their space. The practical count is the number of chairs: 2, 4 and 4.

A worked example. A 31.5 by 23.5 inch table has a top area of 31.5 × 23.5 = 740 square inches, about 5.1 square feet. Four children each have about 185 square inches, a bit more than a 13 by 14 inch space. A 24 by 24 inch table has 576 square inches, or 144 square inches each for four children.

Table height and chair height

The Delta table in the 2-chair set is 19.625 inches high in a bullet and 19.25 inches in the detail field. The 4-chair Delta table is 17.5 inches high. The Flash Furniture table is 20.25 inches high. The Delta chairs in the 4-chair set are 10.5 by 11.5 inches in footprint and 19.5 inches high overall, which includes the back. The seat height was not recorded.

Fit depends on the child. As our own estimate, a seated child’s elbows should be near the table top height or a little below it, and the feet should rest on the floor. Measure your child seated, and compare the elbow height with the table height. The listings give an age range rather than a height range, which is a rough guide.

Age range and weight limits

The 2-chair Delta set recommends ages 3 to 6, and says each chair holds up to 50 pounds. The 4-chair Delta set recommends ages 3 and up and says it meets or exceeds national safety standards and CPSC regulations, which is the seller’s statement. The Flash Furniture set recommends preschool through first grade and says the table holds up to 70 pounds of static weight.

A 50 pound chair limit is low for older children. A worked example with illustrative numbers. A child of 45 pounds is 5 pounds under the limit, a headroom of 5 ÷ 50 = 10 percent. A child who is bigger than that, or who climbs onto the chair, can exceed it. If you have two children who differ in size, look at the limits for each chair.

The Flash Furniture listing gives a table limit but its text did not give a chair limit in the part we read, so ask the seller.

Materials and finish

The Delta sets are wood. The 4-chair listing says pine. The Flash Furniture set is vinyl, which the listing says is durable and can be cleaned. A wood set is heavier and steady; a vinyl folding set is light and can be wiped.

The Delta listings show a “healthy materials” tick in their comparison table, and the 2-chair listing mentions a Greenguard certification in its title text. We have not verified those claims. If a certification matters to you, check the seller’s documentation.

Folding and storing

The Flash Furniture set folds, and the listing says it stores behind furniture or in a closet and that a metal lever must be engaged to lock the table open. The package size in the detail field is 27 by 25.5 by 5 inches, and the set weighs 22 pounds. The Delta sets are not folding, and weigh 26 pounds (2 chairs) and 32 pounds (4 chairs).

A set that folds is good for a shared room or a daycare. A fixed set is better for a playroom where the table stays out.

Safety notes

Kids’ furniture should be checked for stability, pinch points and small parts. The Flash Furniture listing says a metal lever must be locked for the table to stay open, which is a safety feature that also needs an adult to use it correctly. None of the listings we read describes tests, and we do not certify any of these.

Chairs tip when a child leans back or stands on them. Keep the chairs on a hard, flat floor, and supervise young children. That is general advice, not a statement about any particular product.

Assembly

The Flash Furniture listing says no assembly is required. The Delta sets are wood and need assembly, though the text we read did not give a time. As our own estimate, allow 20 to 40 minutes for a table and chairs set with a screwdriver.

Which is the right set

Choose the number of chairs first. If you have one child, 2 chairs is enough and the smallest table. If you have two or three, take the 4-chair table. If the table will be moved or stored, the folding set suits.

The three listings we read

Delta Children MySize Kids Wood Table and Chair Set, 2 Chairs Included (ASIN B076MGX5S5). The listing gives a table of 23.5 by 23.5 by 19.625 inches, chairs of 10 inches wide, a weight of 26 pounds, a wood build, a recommended age of 3 to 6 and a limit of 50 pounds per chair.

Delta Children Kids Table and Chair Set, 4 Chairs Included, Grey/Blue (ASIN B07FCLPPXQ). The listing gives a table of 31.5 by 23.5 by 17.5 inches, chairs of 10.5 by 11.5 by 19.5 inches, a weight of 32 pounds, a pine build and a recommended age of 3 and up.

Flash Furniture Mindy Kids 5-Piece Folding Square Table and Chairs Set (ASIN B00E84CG1K). The listing gives a table of 24 by 24 by 20.25 inches with a 70 pound static limit, a weight of 22 pounds, a vinyl build, a folding design and a recommended age of preschool through first grade.

Mistakes to avoid

Do not buy by looks without checking the table height against your child. Do not ignore the weight limit per chair. Do not forget the age range. And do not leave young children unsupervised on chairs they can tip.

Who should skip a kids table

If your child is a toddler who pulls up on furniture, a very light folding set may tip. If you want a table for years, a table with an adjustable height lasts longer. If space is tight, a lap tray may do.
