Quick answer

Three vanity chair storage options are compared here by their listed size, and the sections below use each product’s own listing data. SONGMICS Vanity Stool Chair with Storage lists 11.8″ D × 15.7″ W × 19.7″ H; Sweetcrispy Vanity Stool Chair with Storage lists 12.2″ D × 16″ W × 18.9″ H; Small Vanity Stool Chair with Storage lists 14.2″ D × 32″ W × 28.3″ H. By listed floor footprint, SONGMICS Vanity Stool Chair with Storage is the smallest (1.29 sq ft) and Sweetcrispy Vanity Stool Chair with Storage the largest (1.36 sq ft). A footprint could not be compared for Small Vanity Stool Chair with Storage because the listing gives conflicting, missing or unlabelled depth and width. 1. SONGMICS Vanity Stool Chair with Storage, Metal Legs, Max. Load 440 lb — Smallest listed footprint

Listed details: dimensions 11.8″ D × 15.7″ W × 19.7″ H; item weight 9 pounds; listed maximum weight 440 pounds; material Short-Pile Plush, Foam, Polywood, MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), Non-Woven Fabric, Steel; frame Polywood, MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), Steel; color Cream White.

The SONGMICS Vanity Stool Chair with Storage is a Cream White backless stool with a short-pile plush top, a foam cushion listed at 1.6 inches thick and 4 steel legs. The listing gives 11.8 inches deep, 15.7 inches wide and 19.7 inches tall, a footprint of 1.29 sq ft, the smallest comparable one here. The seat height is listed as 19.7 inches. It lists 9 pounds and a 440 pound maximum weight recommendation. A hinged lid opens to a hidden 2.7-gallon compartment, and the listing says the frame uses 9 mm thick plywood. It suggests use as a vanity stool, piano bench or footrest.

Pros

• Highest stated load of the three at 440 pounds, 240 pounds above the Sweetcrispy’s 200 (440 minus 200)
• Smallest comparable footprint at 1.29 sq ft, and the listing says it fits under a vanity
• A 2.7-gallon hidden compartment under a hinged lid with a ring handle

Cons

• A backless stool, so it gives no back support, unlike the third listing
• The listing states the compartment size only in gallons, which is a different unit from the Sweetcrispy’s 10L, so compare storage carefully
• Mixed materials (plush, foam, MDF and plywood, steel) and the listing does not describe the plush as washable

Who it is for / who should skip it: Pick it if you want the highest stated load and the smallest footprint with a lidded compartment. Skip it if you want a backrest or a faux fur look.

2. Sweetcrispy Vanity Stool Chair with Storage, Ottoman Faux Fur Soft Padded Makeup Footstools Seat with 4 Metal Legs Anti-Slip Adjustable Feet Modern Cute Small Footrest for Home Entryway Bedroom White — Largest listed footprint

Listed details: dimensions 12.2″ D × 16″ W × 18.9″ H; item weight 8.9 pounds; listed maximum weight 200 pounds; material Faux Fur, Metal; frame Metal; color White.

The Sweetcrispy Vanity Stool Chair with Storage is a white Modern-style faux fur ottoman stool with 4 metal legs in a gold paint finish. The listing gives 12.2 inches deep, 16 inches wide and 18.9 inches tall, a footprint of 1.36 sq ft, the largest comparable one here. It lists 8.9 pounds and a 200 pound maximum weight recommendation. The bullets describe hidden storage under the seat of approximately 10L, a thick padded cushion, and triangularly installed leg tops. Colors listed include white and pink, and the listing says it also works as an entryway bench. It is a backless stool.

Pros

• Hidden storage of approximately 10L under the seat, per the listing
• Faux fur surface with a thick padded cushion and gold-finish metal legs
• Listing says it also works as an entryway bench, and several colors are offered

Cons

• A 200 pound maximum weight recommendation is 240 pounds below the SONGMICS (440 minus 200)
• The largest comparable footprint at 1.36 sq ft, only 0.07 sq ft more than the SONGMICS’s 1.29 sq ft
• Backless, and the listing does not state a seat height separate from the 18.9 inch overall height

Who it is for / who should skip it: Pick it if you want the largest stated storage volume and a soft faux fur look. Skip it if you want the highest load rating or a backrest.

3. Small Vanity Stool Chair with Storage and Foldable Back, White — Footprint not comparable (conflicting listing dimensions)

Listed details: dimensions 14.2″ D × 32″ W × 28.3″ H (a listing bullet gives 14.2″ D × 12.6″ W × 28.3″ H); item weight 9.7 pounds; material Teddy Fleece, Foam, MDF, Steel; frame Metal; color White.

The Small Vanity Stool Chair with Storage and Foldable Back is a white teddy fleece seat with a foldable bow-design backrest, listed with foam, MDF and steel. The listing lists 9.7 pounds and a seat height of 5.9 inches. Its dimensions conflict: the dimension field gives 14.2 inches deep, 32 inches wide and 28.3 inches tall, while a bullet gives 14.2 inches deep, 12.6 inches wide and 28.3 inches tall. The footprint is not comparable here, so verify it on the listing. The bullets mention a thick MDF top, a steel ring and legs, and 360 degree adjustable foot pads. The bullet text provided does not state a weight limit or the storage volume.

Pros

• The only listing here with a backrest, described as foldable
• Teddy fleece seat with a thick MDF top and steel ring and legs, per the listing
• 360 degree adjustable foot pads to level the stool

Cons

• The listing contradicts itself on size, 32 inches wide in one field and 12.6 inches wide in a bullet, so it cannot be ranked by footprint
• No weight limit and no storage volume are stated in the listing text provided
• A seat height of 5.9 inches is 13.8 inches below the SONGMICS’s 19.7 inches (19.7 minus 5.9), so it is very low for most vanities

Who it is for / who should skip it: Pick it only after you confirm the width and the storage on the listing, and if you need a backrest. Skip it if your vanity needs a standard-height seat.

What to check before buying vanity chair storage

Start with seat height against your vanity. The SONGMICS lists a 19.7 inch seat height. The Sweetcrispy lists an 18.9 inch overall height with no separate seat height. The third listing says 5.9 inches, which is 13.8 inches lower than the SONGMICS (19.7 minus 5.9). Measure your vanity knee space before you choose. Second, footprint. The SONGMICS lists 11.8 x 15.7 inches (1.29 sq ft) and the Sweetcrispy lists 12.2 x 16 inches (1.36 sq ft), a difference of 0.07 sq ft. That is too small to decide on. The third listing cannot be compared, because one field gives 32 inches wide and a bullet gives 12.6 inches wide. Verify it. Third, storage. The SONGMICS lists a 2.7-gallon compartment and the Sweetcrispy lists approximately 10L. Those are different units, so check both listings. The third does not state a volume. Fourth, load. The SONGMICS lists 440 pounds and the Sweetcrispy lists 200 pounds. The third states none. Fifth, back support. Only the third has a backrest, described as foldable. The other two are backless. Sixth, material and finish. The SONGMICS uses short-pile plush, the Sweetcrispy uses faux fur and the third uses teddy fleece, and none of the listing text provided describes how to clean them. Decision rules: choose the SONGMICS for the highest rating and the smallest footprint, the Sweetcrispy for the largest storage figure and a soft look, and the third only if you need a backrest and have confirmed its size.

Worked example: fit math for these three options

This worked example is our own planning arithmetic from the listed dimensions, not test results. The wall length and walkway width are assumed example values; replace them with your measurements.

Wall example. Assume 36 inches of clear wall.

• SONGMICS Vanity Stool Chair with Storage: 36 − 15.7 = 20.3 inches spare; centred, 10.15 inches on each side before trim, plugs or curtains.
• Sweetcrispy Vanity Stool Chair with Storage: 36 − 16 = 20 inches spare; centred, 10 inches on each side before trim, plugs or curtains.

Walkway example. The US Access Board gives 36 inches as the minimum clear width for an accessible route. That figure is a yardstick, not a rule for private homes. To keep 36 inches clear beside each product, the walkway between it and the opposite obstacle must be at least 36 inches plus its depth:

• SONGMICS Vanity Stool Chair with Storage: 36 + 11.8 = 47.8 inches of total path width.
• Sweetcrispy Vanity Stool Chair with Storage: 36 + 12.2 = 48.2 inches of total path width.

Footprint. Depth × width, converted at 144 square inches per square foot:

• SONGMICS Vanity Stool Chair with Storage: 11.8 × 15.7 = 185.26 sq in, or 1.29 sq ft.
• Sweetcrispy Vanity Stool Chair with Storage: 12.2 × 16 = 195.2 sq in, or 1.36 sq ft.

Mistakes to avoid

• Ignoring the 5.9 inch seat height. The third listing gives a seat height 13.8 inches below the SONGMICS. Check it against your vanity before ordering.
• Trusting the third listing’s width. One field says 32 inches and a bullet says 12.6 inches. The two cannot both be right.
• Comparing storage in different units. The SONGMICS lists 2.7 gallons and the Sweetcrispy lists approximately 10L. Look at each listing instead of guessing.
• Expecting back support from a stool. Only the third has a backrest. The SONGMICS and Sweetcrispy are backless stools.
