A bamboo hall tree is a freestanding coat rack made of bamboo, usually with hooks at the top and sometimes a bench or shoe shelves at the base. Only two of the seven listings reviewed are bamboo: the Welfuturer walnut tree and the VaeFae natural tree. The other five are solid wood, engineered wood or particleboard, several with metal frames, so the keyword is narrower than the set we researched. Compare the two bamboo listings first, and check the footprint against your entry before ordering.

This guide compares the two bamboo listings closely, then lists the non-bamboo trees as alternatives, so you can decide whether bamboo matters for your use. The listings were checked on 9 October 2026. Every figure comes from the listing data. We have not handled these trees. Where a listing does not state a value, we say so.

If you want bamboo with shoe storage, the Welfuturer (B0F48KJY9C) is the only bamboo option with a shoe rack, which its bullets say holds up to 16 pairs. If you want a simpler bamboo coat tree with a tripod base, the VaeFae (B0F7KD1YYY) has eight hooks and a 15.75 in square footprint. Neither listing states a weight limit.

You may not need a bamboo tree at all. The keyword is about material, not function. If bamboo is not a must, and you need a bench or shoe rack with a stated weight figure, the non-bamboo listings below give more numbers to compare.

Our decision criteria

For a bamboo tree, we judge on whether the material is bamboo (named in the material field and bullets, not only the title), the hook count and whether it has shoe storage, the footprint and height for your entry, and whether a weight limit is stated.

Product notes: pros and cons

Welfuturer Bamboo Hall Tree, Walnut (B0F48KJY9C).

  • Pros: The only bamboo listing with a shoe rack. The bullets describe a 6-in-1 hall tree with a coat rack, shoe bench, top hooks, a hanging rail and storage tiers. It has 13 hooks at varying heights and three shelves, and the bullets describe a smooth walnut finish and a surface that is water-resistant and easy to clean.
  • Cons: The footprint is wider than the VaeFae at 31.5 in long by 11.8 in deep, so it needs a wall or corner with room for the bench. No weight limit or bench seat capacity is stated. The size field says “Large” and the shape field says “L-Shape”. Neither gives a footprint, so measure your own space.

VaeFae Bamboo Hall Tree, Natural (B0F7KD1YYY).

  • Pros: A narrow 15.75 in square footprint, eight hooks in a freestanding design, and a tripod base that the bullets say prevents tipping when loaded. The bullets describe tool-free assembly and a lightweight design that is easy to move.
  • Cons: No weight, weight limit or shoe storage is stated, so it is only a coat tree. The bullets say “solid bamboo”, but the listing does not say whether the bamboo is treated or laminated. The finish is listed only as natural, with no tone described.

The other five listings: not bamboo

If bamboo is not a must, these are the closest alternatives in the listing set. They answer the same entryway need, but they do not meet the bamboo keyword.

The Wamhom and AQIMUELE are the only solid wood options in this set. The Wamhom gives two figures that are not labelled in the same way (27 lb and 220.5 lb), so confirm which applies to coats and which to the bench.

What the bamboo listings do not tell you

Neither bamboo listing gives a weight limit, a bamboo species, or a hook load, and the Welfuturer gives no seat capacity for its bench. For a coat-heavy entry, the only numbers to compare are on the non-bamboo trees, and those hook loads are low: 6.6 lb per hook on the VASAGLE and HOOBRO. A tree with that per-hook rating is not a clear choice for heavy winter coats, whatever the material.

Who should skip these

  • Anyone who needs a bamboo tree with a stated weight limit. Neither bamboo listing gives one.
  • Anyone who wants a bamboo tree to seat two people. The Welfuturer bullets describe a shoe bench but give no seat capacity.
  • Anyone who needs a coat rack under a low ceiling. Both bamboo trees stand about 70 in tall.
  • Anyone who needs to hang heavy outerwear regularly. The per-hook figures in this set are low, and neither bamboo listing states one.

Questions to ask the seller before you order

Use these questions to fill the gaps the listings leave, because we cannot fill them from the listing data:

  1. What is the weight limit for the whole tree, and for each hook?
  2. Is the bamboo solid, laminated or treated, and is the finish sealed?
  3. For the Welfuturer, what is the seat capacity of the shoe bench?
  4. Does the VaeFae ship with the tripod base already attached?

Buying criteria

  1. Bamboo named in the material field, not only the title.
  2. Hook count and spacing.
  3. Whether you need shoe storage or a bench.
  4. Footprint against your wall or corner.
  5. Weight limit stated somewhere in the listing, or confirmed by the seller.
  6. Finish: walnut or natural, as the color field describes.

Worked example: footprint and shoe capacity

Say your entryway is 36 in wide. This is a planning example. The Welfuturer lists 31.5 x 11.8 x 70.87 in without labelling which number is which. If 11.8 in is the depth, the floor space is 31.5 × 11.8 = 371.7 sq in, or about 2.6 sq ft (371.7 ÷ 144), and it leaves 36 − 11.8 = 24.2 in of clear width. The VaeFae is 15.75 in square, so 15.75 × 15.75 = 248.06 sq in, or 1.7 sq ft.

Its 3-tier shoe rack is rated for up to 16 pairs, so each tier holds about 5 to 6 pairs (16 ÷ 3 = 5.3). Check that the tiers are tall enough for boots. The listing gives no tier height.

Questions to ask the seller

The two listings leave several points open. Ask the seller of the Welfuturer which of 31.5, 11.8 and 70.87 in is the width, depth and height, and what the “L-shape” in the shape field means for the base. Ask both sellers for a weight limit, since neither listing states one, and ask whether either tree can be fixed to the wall, which matters for a tall, narrow unit.

Frequently asked questions

Are all the hall trees in this set bamboo?

No. Only the Welfuturer and VaeFae listings name bamboo as the material. The other five are wood, engineered wood or particleboard, several with metal frames.

Which bamboo tree has a shoe bench?

The Welfuturer listing. Its bullets describe a shoe bench and a three-tier shoe rack that holds up to 16 pairs. The VaeFae listing does not describe shoe storage.

How much does the bamboo tree weigh?

The Welfuturer listing gives 16.2 lb. The VaeFae listing does not give a weight.

Can a bamboo hall tree hold heavy coats?

The listings do not state a hook load or a total weight limit for either bamboo tree. Ask the seller before you rely on either one for heavy outerwear.
