A corner TV stand puts the screen across a corner so the room’s dead space does some work. The three types are a corner console with shelves and drawers, a floor stand with a mount, and an easel stand on a tripod base. Which one fits depends on how much wall the TV spans when it sits diagonally across the corner. Our geometry gives about 33.9 inches of wall along each side for a 55 inch TV and 40.1 inches for a 65 inch TV. We read three listings on Amazon on 2026-10-01 and have not tested them, so the sizes below come from the listings.

We read three on Amazon on 2026-10-01: a 55 inch corner console with 4 drawers and a power strip, an Eiffel-inspired floor stand with a mount for 32 to 65 inch TVs and a 88 pound limit, and an easel stand with a 360 degree swivel and a 77 pound limit. We have not tested any of them. Every figure comes from the listings, and where a listing contradicts itself we say so.

The geometry of a corner

Put a TV diagonally across a 90 degree corner. If the TV (or its stand’s front edge) has width w, the line along its face touches each wall at a distance a from the corner, and a = w ÷ √2 = w × 0.7071. The face line sits w ÷ 2 from the corner point. This is plain geometry, not a listing figure.

For a 16:9 screen the width is the diagonal times 0.8716:

  • 55 inch TV: 55 × 0.8716 = 47.9 inches wide. a = 47.9 × 0.7071 = 33.9 inches along each wall; the face line is 47.9 ÷ 2 = 24 inches from the corner point.
  • 65 inch TV: 65 × 0.8716 = 56.7 inches wide. a = 56.7 × 0.7071 = 40.1 inches along each wall; the face line is 28.4 inches from the corner.

Add the stand’s depth behind the screen and the space a person needs to walk, and a corner setup uses more floor than a flat-wall one, though it leaves the wall free. A wide TV in a small corner is a poor fit.

Contradictions to know about. The EXOTICA listing says its design is “triangular,” suitable for any corner, but its stated size is 55.12 inches long by 15.35 inches deep, which is the shape of a straight stand; it does not say how it sits in a corner. Its table also contains a garbled material row. Ask the seller how the unit is meant to be placed. The ONKRON listing says you may receive the updated or the older version of the product. The FITUEYES listing says the stand can rotate 15 degrees left or right and tilt 5 degrees up and 15 degrees down, and lists wheels as optional.

A worked example: a 55 inch TV in a corner

Your corner is clear for 60 inches along each wall, and the TV is 55 inches, 47.9 inches wide.

  • Geometry: the TV spans 33.9 inches along each wall, so 60 − 33.9 = 26.1 inches of wall is spare on each side. Good.
  • EXOTICA: a 55.12 inch long, 15.35 inch deep console does not turn into a triangle by itself. If it stands flat against one wall, the TV is on a straight stand; across the corner, its 55.12 inch length would span 55.12 × 0.7071 = 39 inches of each wall, but the listing does not say that it is built for that. Ask.
  • FITUEYES and ONKRON: these stand freely and can be turned to face the room. The mount’s swivel (15 degrees left or right, or a full 360 degrees on the ONKRON) lets you point the screen at the sofa.

Weight check, with our assumption of a 40 pound 55 inch TV: the FITUEYES’s 88 pounds is 2.2 times the TV; the ONKRON’s 77 pounds is 1.9 times. For a 65 inch TV assumed at 55 pounds, 88 ÷ 55 = 1.6 and 77 ÷ 55 = 1.4. Use your own TV’s weight from its manual. Check the VESA pattern too: the FITUEYES supports 100 by 100 to 400 by 400 millimeters, and so does the ONKRON.

Height and viewing angle

The ONKRON lists height adjustment from 32.6 to 52.5 inches; the FITUEYES lists height adjustment but gives no range in the text we read. Aim for the screen center at about seated eye level. In a corner, the sofa is usually angled or flat to the room, so turn the screen toward the seat. A swivel mount makes this easy.

Tip-over and anchoring

A floor stand with a pole puts a heavy screen high above a narrow base. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Anchor It! campaign is a public education campaign to prevent furniture and TV tip-overs from killing and seriously injuring children. In a corner, you can tie the stand to the wall, which a flat-wall stand cannot always do. The ONKRON listing says an additional fixation system secures the floor mount to the wall, and the FITUEYES lists a trapezoidal base with a thick wooden base for balance. The EXOTICA lists 8 adjustable feet and no anti-tip hardware in the text we read. If the stand has wheels, lock them. Never let a child climb a stand or a TV.

Storage and cables

The EXOTICA has 4 drawers, 4 open shelves and a power strip with 4 outlets and a 6.56 foot cord. The FITUEYES lists two wood shelves and cable management. The ONKRON lists cable clips. A floor stand with a pole has few shelves, so a streaming box and a console go on a small shelf beside it. A corner is also where outlets are not always found, so check yours before you pick a stand with a short cord.

Materials and care

The EXOTICA is engineered wood with an iron frame. Composite wood products, including particleboard and MDF, are covered by the EPA’s formaldehyde emission standards, and a compliance label may be present. The FITUEYES and ONKRON are partly wood and partly steel. Dust with a dry cloth, and wipe spills on a board edge quickly.

Corners are not always square

The geometry above assumes a true 90 degree corner and a clear floor. Real corners have baseboards that hold a stand away from the wall by half an inch or more, outlets at awkward heights, and sometimes a radiator or a vent. Measure the corner with a tape along both walls at floor level and at the height of the screen, because an out-of-square corner of even 2 degrees changes the gap at each end of a flat-backed stand. A stand with adjustable feet, like the EXOTICA’s 8 feet, helps with an uneven floor but not with an out-of-square wall.

Leave room behind the screen for cables and for air. A TV tucked deep into a corner can run warm and collect dust; leave a few inches of clearance behind it and do not box it in. If the room has a window near the corner, check the glare at the times you watch, because a diagonal screen can catch light from two directions.

Setup notes

The FITUEYES and ONKRON are mount-and-pole designs that you build before you hang the TV, and the ONKRON listing says it includes soft inserts that protect the back of the screen. Get a second person to lift the TV onto the mount. The EXOTICA lists all accessories and step-by-step instructions in the package. Level any stand before you load it, and recheck the fasteners after a month, because a stand that has settled can wobble.

How to choose

  1. Measure the corner and compute the wall run for your TV: width × 0.7071.
  2. Decide whether you want storage (a console) or a freestanding mount.
  3. Check the stated TV range, weight and VESA pattern.
  4. Anchor the stand to the wall, or lock the wheels.
  5. Turn the screen toward the seating.

Frequently asked questions

How much space does a corner TV stand need?

For a 55 inch TV across a corner, about 33.9 inches along each wall by geometry; for a 65 inch TV, about 40.1 inches.

Can a 65 inch TV go on a corner stand?

The FITUEYES and ONKRON listings say 32 to 65 inches. Check the TV’s weight and VESA pattern.
