1. EVER ADVANCED Camping Directors’ Chair with Side Table, Portable Folding with Compact Size, Heavy Duty Lawn Chair with Pocket for Camping, Lawn, Sports and Fishing, 400lbs, Black — Smallest listed footprint

Listed details: dimensions 17″ D × 17.7″ W × 18.5″ H; item weight 11.6 pounds; listed maximum weight 400 pounds; material Metal; color Black.

The EVER ADVANCED Camping Directors’ Chair is a black metal folding chair with an attached side table that the listing says has a cup holder, phone slot and side pocket. It lists 17 inches deep, 17.7 wide and 18.5 high, which is 2.09 sq ft, the smallest footprint of the three. The listing gives a folded size of 19 3/4 by 19 3/4 by 6 inches. The spec table gives an item weight of 11.6 pounds, an 18-inch seat height and a maximum weight recommendation of 400 pounds. The listing says no assembly is needed and there is a carry handle.

Pros

• Highest stated maximum weight recommendation of the three: 400 pounds.
• The only listing that gives a folded size: 19 3/4 by 19 3/4 by 6 inches.
• The side table has a cup holder, a phone slot and a multi-functional side pocket, per the listing.

Cons

• The listed 18.5-inch overall height is barely above the 18-inch seat height, so the dimensions may not include the backrest. Check the real height.
• At 11.6 pounds it is 11.6 – 8.4 = 3.2 pounds heavier than the YOUNG WOOD.
• The spec table names the material as metal, and the listing does not describe the seat fabric.

Who it is for / who should skip it: Pick it if you want the smallest open footprint, a stated folded size and the highest stated capacity. Skip it if you want the lightest chair or a seat fabric you can check.

2. SUNNYFEEL Oversized Camping Chair Portable Directors Chairs with Side Table — Middle listed footprint

Listed details: dimensions 21.26″ D × 25″ W × 36.22″ H; item weight 13 pounds; listed maximum weight 300 pounds; material Alloy Steel; frame Sturdy Thickened Steel; color Black-2pcs.

The SUNNYFEEL Oversized Camping Chair is a black steel directors chair with a side table, an anti-pinching click-to-lock design and 600x300D Oxford cloth, according to the listing. It lists 21.26 inches deep, 25 wide and 36.22 high, which is 3.69 sq ft, the middle footprint of the three. The spec table gives a maximum weight recommendation of 300 pounds and an item weight of 13 pounds, while a bullet says 13.4 lbs. The listing says it comes in a carry bag with handle straps. The color field reads Black-2pcs; the listing does not make clear whether that means two chairs.

Pros

• The listing describes an anti-pinching, click-to-lock frame that sets up quickly and safely.
• Comes in a carry bag with handle straps, and the listing gives an open size of 21 by 25 by 36 inches.
• A steel frame with double-seam 600x300D Oxford cloth, per the listing.

Cons

• Lowest stated maximum weight recommendation of the three: 300 pounds (136 kg).
• The color field reads Black-2pcs, so it is unclear whether one chair or two ships. Check the listing before ordering.
• No folded size is stated, and the item weight is 13 pounds in the spec table but 13.4 lbs in a bullet.

Who it is for / who should skip it: Pick it if you want a taller open size, a carry bag and a click-to-lock frame, and you confirm how many chairs ship. Skip it if you need a stated folded size or a capacity above 300 pounds.

3. YOUNG WOOD Camping Directors Chair, Lightweight Oversized Portable Folding Chair with Side Table and Storage Pockets for Outdoor Camping, Lawn, Picnic and Fishing, Supports 400lbs (Black) — Largest listed footprint

Listed details: dimensions 31.2″ D × 19.11″ W × 31.59″ H; item weight 8.4 pounds; listed maximum weight 330 pounds; material Metal; color Black. The listing is inconsistent on capacity: the specification field says 330 lb, the bullets say 400 lb.

The YOUNG WOOD Camping Directors Chair is a black chair with an all-aluminum-alloy X-shaped structure, a side table and storage pockets, which the listing says hold water bottles and phones. It lists 31.2 inches deep, 19.11 wide and 31.59 high, which is 4.14 sq ft, the largest footprint of the three. The spec table gives an item weight of 8.4 pounds, the lightest of the three, a seat depth of 13.78 inches and a maximum weight recommendation of 330 pounds, but the data flags a capacity conflict with a bullet figure. The listing says no installation is required.

Pros

• Lightest of the three at 8.4 pounds, with an all-aluminum-alloy X-shaped structure per the listing.
• The listing says it opens and folds quickly with no installation, and it has a handle.
• Has a side table and side pockets for bottles, phones and small items.

Cons

• The data flags a capacity conflict: the spec table says 330 pounds but a bullet gives a different load-bearing figure. Check the listing before relying on either.
• Largest listed footprint at 4.14 sq ft, 4.14 – 2.09 = 2.05 sq ft more than the EVER ADVANCED.
• No folded size and no seat height are stated, so storage space and sitting height are unknown.

Who it is for / who should skip it: Pick it if you will carry it far and want the lightest option, once you have checked the capacity figure. Skip it if you need a trusted weight limit or a compact open footprint.

What to check before buying camping directors chair with side table

Start with the open size and the folded size, because a camping chair has both. Open footprints as listed: 17 by 17.7 inches (2.09 sq ft) for the EVER ADVANCED, 21.26 by 25 inches (3.69 sq ft) for the SUNNYFEEL and 31.2 by 19.11 inches (4.14 sq ft) for the YOUNG WOOD. The gap between smallest and largest is 4.14 – 2.09 = 2.05 sq ft. Only the EVER ADVANCED lists a folded size, 19 3/4 by 19 3/4 by 6 inches. Rule: if trunk space is tight, check the other two listings for a folded size.

Second, capacity. The EVER ADVANCED lists 400 pounds, the YOUNG WOOD 330 pounds and the SUNNYFEEL 300 pounds. The data flags a conflict between the YOUNG WOOD’s spec table and a bullet, so verify it. Rule: if you want the most margin, take the EVER ADVANCED; trust the YOUNG WOOD’s number only after checking the listing.

Third, weight to carry. The YOUNG WOOD is 8.4 pounds, the EVER ADVANCED 11.6 pounds and the SUNNYFEEL 13 pounds (13.4 lbs in a bullet). The YOUNG WOOD is 11.6 – 8.4 = 3.2 pounds lighter than the EVER ADVANCED. Rule: the lightest is the YOUNG WOOD, if its capacity checks out.

Fourth, the side table. All three have one. The EVER ADVANCED lists a cup holder, phone slot and side pocket; the YOUNG WOOD a table for bottles and phones plus side pockets; the SUNNYFEEL names a side table without describing it. Rule: if you want a phone slot, only the EVER ADVANCED lists one.

Fifth, setup. The SUNNYFEEL has an anti-pinching, click-to-lock frame and a carry bag. The EVER ADVANCED needs no assembly, you pull the frames apart, and has a carry handle. The YOUNG WOOD says it needs no installation and has a handle.

Last, frames. The EVER ADVANCED is metal, the SUNNYFEEL steel and the YOUNG WOOD aluminum alloy. The SUNNYFEEL color field reads Black-2pcs, so check how many chairs ship.

Worked example: fit math for these three options

This worked example is our own planning arithmetic from the listed dimensions, not test results. The wall length and walkway width are assumed example values; replace them with your measurements.

Wall example. Assume 48 inches of clear wall.

• EVER ADVANCED Camping Directors’ Chair: 48 − 17.7 = 30.3 inches spare; centred, 15.15 inches on each side before trim, plugs or curtains.
• SUNNYFEEL Oversized Camping Chair Portable Directors: 48 − 25 = 23 inches spare; centred, 11.5 inches on each side before trim, plugs or curtains.
• YOUNG WOOD Camping Directors Chair: 48 − 19.11 = 28.89 inches spare; centred, 14.45 inches on each side before trim, plugs or curtains.

Walkway example. The US Access Board gives 36 inches as the minimum clear width for an accessible route. That figure is a yardstick, not a rule for private homes. To keep 36 inches clear beside each product, the walkway between it and the opposite obstacle must be at least 36 inches plus its depth:

• EVER ADVANCED Camping Directors’ Chair: 36 + 17 = 53 inches of total path width.
• SUNNYFEEL Oversized Camping Chair Portable Directors: 36 + 21.26 = 57.26 inches of total path width.
• YOUNG WOOD Camping Directors Chair: 36 + 31.2 = 67.2 inches of total path width.

Footprint. Depth × width, converted at 144 square inches per square foot:

• EVER ADVANCED Camping Directors’ Chair: 17 × 17.7 = 300.9 sq in, or 2.09 sq ft.
• SUNNYFEEL Oversized Camping Chair Portable Directors: 21.26 × 25 = 531.5 sq in, or 3.69 sq ft.
• YOUNG WOOD Camping Directors Chair: 31.2 × 19.11 = 596.23 sq in, or 4.14 sq ft.

Mistakes to avoid

• Ignoring the folded size. Only the EVER ADVANCED states one (19 3/4 by 19 3/4 by 6 inches). For the others, check the listing before you plan trunk or closet space.
• Trusting the YOUNG WOOD capacity. The spec table says 330 pounds, but the data flags a conflicting figure in a bullet. Treat the lower number as the safe one until you confirm.
• Assuming Black-2pcs means a two-pack. The SUNNYFEEL color field reads Black-2pcs, and the listing does not make clear whether one chair or two ships.
• Reading the EVER ADVANCED height as full height. Its listed 18.5 inches is barely above its 18-inch seat height, so the dimensions may leave out the backrest.
