• Dry bathroom use, towels on a rack: HOOBRO (B0G4MHPT84) is a freestanding bamboo rack with a seat-like area and an open shelf. It is a rack, not a bench, so check the fit before you buy.

What “towel storage” means in this set

Only one listing names a towel bar: Tinamo describes a side handle that serves as “both a shower head holder and a towel bar.” TheLuxe lists two side hooks, which the listing says can hold loofahs or towels. ENKEZI and oridom describe a shelf or storage compartment, but do not say it holds towels. HOOBRO is a rack for towels and blankets, with a seating area described in its bullet. Alaterre is a dry bench with a lower shelf, and one of its bullets says it can be used as a towel holder.

Notes. ENKEZI’s specs give a seat width of 29.5 inches and a minimum height of 29.5 inches, which conflicts with its dimension field, so the table uses the dimension field and we flag the problem. Cons: the title says teak but the specs and bullets say bamboo, so ask the seller to confirm the material. The hooks are not a towel bar, and the listing does not give a load limit for them.

ENKEZI (B0CYLSNLPF). Pros: an adjustable-length design, a built-in shelf, and a listed 250-pound limit. The listing also says it can be used outdoors by a pool or patio. Cons: the seat width and minimum height both state 29.5 inches, which contradicts the dimension field, so measure before you buy. The listing does not name a towel holder.

oridom (B0D811BD99). Pros: a 300-pound limit, slatted seat that the listing says drains water, anti-skid pads, and a center compartment for bottles. Cons: the listing describes the compartment for bath products, not towels. The seat is 10 inches deep, which is short for a long sit. The 100 percent waterproof claim is the seller’s; we did not verify it.

HOOBRO (B0G4MHPT84). Pros: bamboo, easy assembly with labeled parts, and a shelf plus a rack for towels or blankets. Cons: it is a freestanding rack, and the listing does not state a weight limit or a seat height. Its bullet describes a sitting area, but the product is not described as a bench, so buy it for storage, not for sitting in a shower. The listing does not say it is for shower use.

Alaterre Coventry (B0F68TYSQS). Pros: a removable cushion, a lower shelf, a listed 250-pound limit, and a bullet that names towel holding. Cons: the listing says “Do Not Use in the Shower,” so it is for dry use only. Its height figures conflict between the dimension field and the bullets, and its title does not mention towels.

Worked example: a 30 in wide shower and a 250 lb user

• Width. In a 30 in wide shower, Tinamo at 28 in leaves 2 in (30 minus 28), which is tight. TheLuxe at 22 in leaves 8 in, ENKEZI at 17 in leaves 13 in, and oridom at 15.7 in leaves 14.3 in.

Who should skip a bathroom bench with towel storage

• If you need a towel bar you can grab in a wet shower, none of these listings says it has a grab bar. Do not treat a towel bar on a bench as a safety rail.
• If your towels need to dry quickly, the listings do not state ventilation or drying performance. Plan on a separate rack if drying is the main job.
• If you want a bench you can sit on for a long time, the shower benches here have seats of 10 to 15 inches deep.
