SONGMICS Bamboo Shoe Bench: 27.6 in Model vs 5 Rivals

The SONGMICS bamboo shoe bench most buyers mean is the 3-tier, 27.6 inch wide model. Amazon lists it in at least two colours (Ink Black, model ULBS04H, and Forest Green, model ULBS004C01) with the same size and the same stated limits. Bamboo benches look warm and are light compared with particleboard, but the listings differ a lot on weight limit, cushion and shelf count, so this guide puts the SONGMICS next to five other bamboo benches.

We have not tested any bench here. Every number comes from a product listing, pulled between 2026-10-05 and 2026-10-09.

• SONGMICS 3-tier, 27.6 in: 11.3 in deep, 27.6 in wide and 17.8 in high, 8.8 lb, bamboo, no cushion. The listing states 286 lb on the top and 22 lb per shelf, and says the two wide shelves hold at least 6 pairs of shoes.
• Highest weight limit in the group: the APRTAT bench (ASIN B0DKFBG1DV) lists 350 lb. For a removable cushion and side holders, the oakvivo 39.4-inch bench (ASIN B0DGQ6TPXX) lists 330 lb and says it holds 4-5 pairs plus one pair of boots.
• Compact width with a drawer: the BAMBUROBA 27.5-inch bench (ASIN B074SJFYRC) lists 300 lb and a storage drawer.
• Same width as the SONGMICS, lower limit: the AMADA 27.6-inch bench (ASIN B0GQL2CQ5P) lists 220 lb and a seating capacity of one.

Who this is for

A bamboo bench suits an entry where you want a seat and a shelf and you care about the look. If your wall is under 28 inches, three of the benches below (SONGMICS, AMADA and BAMBUROBA) are narrower than most. If you need a bench for heavy boots or a tall boot compartment, only the oakvivo listing describes boots, so check before you buy.

The benches

1. SONGMICS 3-tier bamboo shoe bench, 27.6 in (B01N125MU5 and B0DMF7BZ6M)

The SONGMICS is a narrow bamboo bench without a cushion. The Ink Black listing (B01N125MU5) and the Forest Green listing (B0DMF7BZ6M) give the same size, weight and limits. The bullets say it can also be used as a side table, plant stand or bathroom rack.

Pros

• Narrow at 27.6 inches, with a depth of only 11.3 inches.
• 286 lb stated on the top, and the bullets describe sitting on it to change shoes.
• Light at 8.8 lb, so it is easy to move.
• The listing says it can be assembled in a few steps with clear instructions.

Cons

• No cushion, so the seat is bare bamboo.
• Each shelf is rated for only 22 lb, far below the 286 lb top figure.
• The spec table lists a seating capacity of 2, but two adults of 180 lb each weigh 360 lb, which is above the 286 lb limit.
• The bullets say the two wide shelves hold “at least 6 pairs”, which is a modest capacity for a three-tier title.

Skip it if you want a cushioned seat, more than about six pairs of shoes, or a bench for two adults at once.

2. oakvivo 39.4-inch bamboo bench (B0DGQ6TPXX)

A three-tier bamboo bench with a removable linen-covered cushion, two side holders and a smooth painted finish. The bullets say it holds four or five pairs plus one pair of boots, and the listing gives 330 lb as the weight limit.

Pros

• 330 lb limit stated in the bullets.
• Two side holders for umbrellas or magazines.
• Removable cushion cover that the listing says is easy to clean.
• Assembly listed at under 30 minutes.

Cons

• At 40.55 inches wide, it needs a longer wall than most bamboo benches here.
• Item weight is 22 lb.
• Assembly instructions are described as “content not specified,” which leaves the detail unclear.

Skip it if your wall is under 40 inches.

3. WISUCART 2-tier bamboo bench (B0H6MNLRSY)

A bamboo bench with a sponge cushion that lifts to reveal a hidden compartment. The front is a magnetic slatted door with ventilation. The listing says it holds six to eight pairs.

Pros

• Hidden compartment under the lid, per the bullets.
• Magnetic slatted door that the listing says keeps shoes out of sight and ventilated.
• Six to eight pairs, per the bullets.
• 330 lb limit stated in the bullets.

Cons

• Item weight is 20 lb.
• Seat height is not stated.
• The listing gives no assembly time.

Skip it if you want open shelves.

4. BAMBUROBA 3-tier bamboo bench with drawer (B074SJFYRC)

A bamboo bench with two shelves, a top storage area and a drawer. The listing says the two shelves take at least six pairs and the bench is rated at 300 lb.

Pros

• 300 lb limit stated.
• Seat height of 18.3 inches stated.
• Top storage for socks, shoe covers and keys.
• Installation tools included.

Cons

• Title says 3-tier; bullets say two shelves. Count before you rely on either.
• Item weight is 11.7 lb.
• No cushion described.

Skip it if you want a cushioned seat.

5. AMADA 3-tier bamboo bench (B0GQL2CQ5P)

A natural bamboo bench with three tiers, described as a shoe rack and bench in one. The listing gives 220 lb and says the bench seats one person.

Pros

• 27.6-inch width, the same as the SONGMICS and narrower than the oakvivo bench.
• Seat height of 17.7 inches stated.
• Clear instructions included, per the listing.

Cons

• 220 lb is the lowest stated weight limit in this group.
• No cushion described.
• The listing says seating capacity of one, which is fewer than the other benches list.

Skip it if two people sit on it or you want a higher weight rating.

6. APRTAT 3-tier bamboo bench, black (B0DKFBG1DV)

A black-finished bamboo bench with a cushioned seat and three shelves. The listing gives 350 lb and a 10.63-inch depth.

Pros

• 350 lb limit stated, the highest figure in this group.
• Foam cushion described as high-density.
• Wipe clean with a damp cloth.

Cons

• Listing is short; the bullets do not describe the shelf layout or pair count.
• Seat height and item weight are not stated.

Skip it if you need a pair count or a shelf height.

Worked example: one adult, two adults and the shelves

Say one adult who weighs 180 lb sits on the bench (our assumption). Subtract 180 lb from each stated limit:

• APRTAT (350 lb): 350 − 180 = 170 lb of margin.
• oakvivo and WISUCART (330 lb): 330 − 180 = 150 lb.
• BAMBUROBA (300 lb): 300 − 180 = 120 lb.
• SONGMICS (286 lb on the top): 286 − 180 = 106 lb.
• AMADA (220 lb): 220 − 180 = 40 lb.

The SONGMICS spec lists a seating capacity of 2, but two adults at 180 lb each weigh 2 × 180 = 360 lb, which is 360 − 286 = 74 lb over the stated 286 lb. The shelves are rated far lower: 22 lb each, so the two wide shelves carry 2 × 22 = 44 lb in total, and a heavy pair of boots counts against that figure. The table above gives no seat count for most of the other benches, so treat this as a rough guide.

1. Check the seat height by sitting on it, in your shoes, if you can.
2. Count the shelves in the listing, not just the title.
3. Use the lowest weight figure in the listing if the bullets and specs differ.
4. For the SONGMICS, remember that 286 lb is the top figure and 22 lb is the figure for each shelf.
