1. SONGMICS Small Folding Storage Ottoman, 15.8 x 12.2 x 12.2 Inches — Smallest listed footprint

Listed details: dimensions 12.2″ D × 16.1″ W × 12.2″ H; item weight 4.6 pounds; listed maximum weight 286 pounds; material 25D High-Resilience Foam, Linen-Look Fabric, MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard); frame Engineered Wood; color Dark Gray.

The SONGMICS Small Folding Storage Ottoman is the smallest listed footprint at 1.36 square feet, using the DATA footprint calculation. Its listed dimensions are 12.2 inches deep by 16.1 inches wide by 12.2 inches high, although the title gives a different 15.8-inch measurement, so verify the size before ordering. It weighs 4.6 pounds and has an 8-gallon (32-liter) storage volume. The listing states that its MDF panels support up to 286 pounds. Linen-look fabric, high-resilience foam, and a foldaway design suit small living rooms, bedrooms, entryways, and dressing rooms.

Pros

• Smallest listed footprint at 1.36 square feet
• The listing states 8 gallons (32 liters) of storage
• Lightest listed item at 4.6 pounds and folds for storage

Cons

• The title and specifications give different width measurements: 15.8 inches versus 16.1 inches
• Its 12.2-inch seat height may be low for some seating uses
• The listed weight recommendation is lower than the other two products at 286 pounds

Who it is for / who should skip it: Pick this one when floor space, portability, and foldaway storage matter most. Verify the conflicting dimensions first, and skip it if you need a taller ottoman or the highest listed weight recommendation.

2. Storage Ottoman, 17″ Folding Linen Foot Stools Ottoman for Dorm, Dark Gray — Largest listed footprint

Listed details: dimensions 17″ D × 13″ W × 13″ H; item weight 2.23 kg; listed maximum weight 300 pounds; material ottoman; frame Cotton; color Drak Gray.

This folding fabric storage ottoman has the largest listed footprint at 1.53 square feet, based on the DATA calculation. It measures 17 inches deep by 13 inches wide by 13 inches high and provides 43 liters of internal storage, the largest stated capacity among these products. The listing states a 300-pound maximum weight recommendation, side pockets, and no-tool assembly. It weighs 2.23 kilograms. However, the material information conflicts: the specifications list cotton as the frame material and “ottoman” as the material type, while the bullets mention linen-look fabric and durable MDF. Confirm the construction details before buying.

Pros

• Largest stated storage volume at 43 liters
• The listing states a 300-pound maximum weight recommendation
• Folds to 17 by 13 by 2.5 inches and requires no tools to assemble

Cons

• The material fields conflict with the description, including cotton, linen-look fabric, and MDF
• Largest listed footprint at 1.53 square feet
• The listing calls the color “Drak Gray,” which may require checking the product image or variant

Who it is for / who should skip it: Pick it for maximum stated storage, side pockets, and a 300-pound recommendation in a dorm, bedroom, or living room. Skip it if precise materials or a smaller footprint are priorities.

3. BLEXA Set of 2 Round Storage Ottoman, White Velvet Ottoman with Storage — Middle listed footprint

Listed details: dimensions 14.76″ D × 14.76″ W × 17.32″ H; item weight 15.4 pounds; listed maximum weight 300 pounds; material Engineered Wood; color Cream.

The BLEXA set includes two round storage ottomans in different sizes. The larger ottoman measures 14.76 inches by 14.76 inches by 17.32 inches, while the smaller measures 12.6 inches by 12.6 inches by 14.17 inches. The listing states that both have storage space and that the smaller ottoman nests inside the larger one. The set has a 1.51-square-foot listed footprint, a 300-pound maximum weight recommendation, engineered-wood construction, cream coloring, and a contemporary style. At 15.4 pounds, it is substantially heavier than the individual folding options.

Pros

• Includes two ottomans with separate stated sizes
• The smaller ottoman nests inside the larger one
• The listing states a 300-pound maximum weight recommendation

Cons

• Heaviest listed product at 15.4 pounds
• The set’s 17.32-inch seat height may not suit every footrest or low-seating setup
• The listing does not state the storage volume for either ottoman

Who it is for / who should skip it: Pick this set if you want two coordinated round pieces, nesting storage, or a taller vanity-stool height. Skip it if you need a lightweight folding ottoman or a stated storage capacity.

What to check before buying fabric storage ottoman

Start with the footprint and height, because a storage ottoman must fit both the floor area and the intended use. The SONGMICS has the smallest listed footprint at 1.36 square feet, followed by the BLEXA set at 1.51 square feet and the other folding ottoman at 1.53 square feet. SONGMICS lists a 12.2-inch seat height; the other folding model lists 13 inches; BLEXA lists 17.32 inches for its larger ottoman and 14.17 inches for the smaller one. Choose the lower options for footrests or compact seating, and consider BLEXA when a taller vanity-stool height is useful.

Next, compare storage capacity. The second folding ottoman states 43 liters, while SONGMICS states 8 gallons (32 liters). BLEXA states that both ottomans have storage but does not provide a volume. Choose the second product for the largest stated capacity; choose SONGMICS for a smaller footprint and foldaway design. Do not assume BLEXA has more storage simply because it includes two pieces.

Check the load recommendation if the ottoman will be used as a seat. SONGMICS lists 286 pounds, while the other folding ottoman and BLEXA each list 300 pounds. These are maximum recommendations, not guarantees for every use.

Finally, check portability and construction details. SONGMICS weighs 4.6 pounds and folds; the second ottoman weighs 2.23 kilograms and folds to 17 by 13 by 2.5 inches; BLEXA weighs 15.4 pounds as a set. The second product’s material fields conflict, and SONGMICS has conflicting title and specification measurements. Verify those details before ordering.

Worked example: fit math for these three options

This worked example is our own planning arithmetic from the listed dimensions, not test results. The wall length and walkway width are assumed example values; replace them with your measurements.

Wall example. Assume 36 inches of clear wall.

• SONGMICS Small Folding Storage Ottoman: 36 − 16.1 = 19.9 inches spare; centred, 9.95 inches on each side before trim, plugs or curtains.
• Storage Ottoman: 36 − 13 = 23 inches spare; centred, 11.5 inches on each side before trim, plugs or curtains.
• BLEXA Set of 2 Round Storage: 36 − 14.76 = 21.24 inches spare; centred, 10.62 inches on each side before trim, plugs or curtains.

Walkway example. The US Access Board gives 36 inches as the minimum clear width for an accessible route. That figure is a yardstick, not a rule for private homes. To keep 36 inches clear beside each product, the walkway between it and the opposite obstacle must be at least 36 inches plus its depth:

• SONGMICS Small Folding Storage Ottoman: 36 + 12.2 = 48.2 inches of total path width.
• Storage Ottoman: 36 + 17 = 53 inches of total path width.
• BLEXA Set of 2 Round Storage: 36 + 14.76 = 50.76 inches of total path width.

Footprint. Depth × width, converted at 144 square inches per square foot:

• SONGMICS Small Folding Storage Ottoman: 12.2 × 16.1 = 196.42 sq in, or 1.36 sq ft.
• Storage Ottoman: 17 × 13 = 221 sq in, or 1.53 sq ft.
• BLEXA Set of 2 Round Storage: 14.76 × 14.76 = 217.86 sq in, or 1.51 sq ft.

Mistakes to avoid

• Ignoring conflicting dimensions. SONGMICS lists 15.8 inches in its title but 16.1 inches in its specifications. Check the product page before relying on the footprint.
• Choosing by piece count alone. BLEXA includes two ottomans, but its listing does not state their storage volume. Do not assume the set stores more than either single ottoman.
• Treating capacity as interchangeable. The products use different information: 8 gallons (32 liters), 43 liters, and no stated volume. Compare the stated measurements rather than guessing from outside size.
• Overlooking seat height. The listed heights range from 12.2 inches to 17.32 inches. Match the height to your intended footrest, stool, or seating use.

Frequently asked questions

Which fabric storage ottoman has the smallest footprint?

The SONGMICS Small Folding Storage Ottoman has the smallest listed footprint at 1.36 square feet. Its specifications list dimensions of 12.2 inches deep by 16.1 inches wide by 12.2 inches high. However, the title gives a different 15.8-inch measurement, so verify the final dimensions before ordering for a tight space.

Which ottoman has the most stated storage?

The second folding storage ottoman has the largest stated storage volume at 43 liters. SONGMICS lists 8 gallons, also described as 32 liters. BLEXA states that both ottomans have hidden storage but does not provide a volume, so its storage capacity cannot be directly compared from the listing.

Can these fabric storage ottomans be used as seats?

The listings describe all three options as suitable for seating or multipurpose use. SONGMICS lists a maximum weight recommendation of 286 pounds. The second folding ottoman and the BLEXA set each list 300 pounds. These are listing recommendations, and the intended use should match the product’s dimensions and height.

Which option is easiest to store when not in use?

Both individual folding ottomans are designed for compact storage. SONGMICS has a foldaway design, while the second ottoman folds to 17 by 13 by 2.5 inches. BLEXA is a nesting set: the smaller round ottoman fits inside the larger one, but the listing does not describe either piece as foldable.
