A boneless chaise lounge chair suits a bedroom or living room corner when the doorway, the wall and the lounging position all fit together. Of the three chairs below, only the Tykacna listing states a minimum door width, 36 inches. A doorway with 32 inches of clear width is 4 inches short (32 − 36 = −4), so measure the route before you order. The Feliz home chair is 22 inches high and the Tykacna is 15 inches high, so the Tykacna sits 7 inches lower (22 − 15 = 7). Choose by the height you can sit comfortably at and the route you can carry it through, and confirm the variant on the product page.

What these chairs are

The Feliz home and Tykacna listings both describe a single chair with a movable ottoman and three pillows, and both call the piece a chaise lounge chair in their names. The Syferlory listing describes a two-in-one piece: a sofa that converts into a lounger. Its size field reads loveseat, so it is a wider seat than the other two.

Each of the three listings also describes a sleeper use in its title. The listings do not give a mattress size or thickness, so do not assume a bed size from the word sleeper.

Measure the route and the room

Measure the narrowest point on the route from the entrance to the final position. Include door frames, stair turns and the corner of any wall you must pass. Then measure the place where the chair will sit: its width along the wall and its depth into the room, leaving space for a person to get up and walk past.

The three listings give different overall sizes. The Feliz home chair is 57 inches deep, 36 inches wide and 22 inches high. The Tykacna is 57 inches deep, 36 inches wide and 15 inches high. The Syferlory’s dimensions are printed without labels, so this guide does not say which figure is depth, width or height. For related options, see the sleeper chaise guide and the daybed sofa couch guide.

Our own estimate is to leave about 1 inch of clearance on each side where the chair sits near a wall. That is a rough allowance, not a rule. Use more if you need to reach behind the chair for cleaning.

Worked example: the doorway and the wall

Suppose the chair must pass a doorway with 32 inches of clear width and then sit against a wall that is 60 inches long.

  • Tykacna: the listing states a minimum door width of 36 inches. 32 − 36 = −4, so the chair does not pass through the doorway without a tilt or a different route.
  • Feliz home: the listing does not state a minimum door width. Its 36-inch width is the same as the Tykacna’s, so the same doorway check applies until you confirm the figure.
  • Syferlory: the listing does not state a minimum door width, and its dimensions are unlabeled. Confirm the dimensions on the product page before you measure the doorway.
  • Wall: using our own estimate of 1 inch on each side, a 60-inch wall gives 58 inches of usable width (60 − 1 − 1 = 58). A 36-inch-wide chair, such as the Feliz home or Tykacna, leaves 22 inches (58 − 36 = 22) for side tables or a lamp.

The arithmetic shows why the doorway matters more than the wall. A chair can fit a corner and still never reach it.

Fabric, foam and assembly

The Feliz home and Tykacna chairs both use high-density foam with a corduroy covering, according to their bullets. The Syferlory uses a flannel covering over 40D memory foam, which its listing describes as stain-resistant.

All three listings say no assembly is required. The Syferlory’s bullets add that the foam must expand for up to 72 hours after unboxing, so do not judge its shape on the first day. The Feliz home and Tykacna listings say to let the foam fully expand after unboxing as well.

Cushion covers are a practical question. The Feliz home listing states that the seat cushion cover is not removable. The Tykacna and Syferlory listings state the same in their fields, so plan for spot cleaning rather than machine washing the covers.

Who this guide is not for

All three listings describe a single-seat chair or a loveseat-size piece. The Feliz home and Tykacna list a seating capacity of 1. If you need a full sectional for several adults, a single chaise lounge chair will not replace it, and this guide does not cover that category.

Frequently asked questions

Which of these chairs states a door width?

Only the Tykacna lists one, a minimum of 36 inches. A 32-inch clear doorway is 4 inches short of that figure (32 − 36 = −4). Measure your doorway before you order, and check the product page for the variant you choose.

Is a boneless chaise lounge chair a sectional sofa?

No. The Feliz home and Tykacna listings describe single chairs, and the Syferlory describes a two-in-one loveseat-size piece. None of the three is a sectional with a chaise. If you need a sectional, this guide does not cover it.

Can I machine wash the covers?

The Feliz home listing says the seat cushion cover is not removable, and the other two listings state the same in their fields. Plan for spot cleaning unless the product page says otherwise.
