Quick answer
A breakfast nook with chairs is usually a small table and two seats for a corner, a window or the end of a kitchen. Most of the sets we found are for two people and tuck the seats under the table. What you check is the table’s length and width against your nook, the table height against the seat height and whether the stools or chairs really slide in.
We read three Amazon listings on 2026-10-01: the VECELO 3-piece oval table set with built-in storage (ASIN B0CXXNVSNT), the HOOBRO 3-piece industrial set (B0D81ZH56C) and the Homeiju bar table and chairs set (B0DYNTL2B4). They are examples of what to compare, not a ranking. We have not tested or sat at any of them, and we do not show prices; check the current price on Amazon. Every number comes from the listings.

What counts as a nook set
There is no standard definition. In practice a nook set is a table of about 2 to 3 feet on a side with two seats. A real built-in nook with a bench is a different thing; this guide covers free-standing sets you can place in a corner or against a wall.
The three listings are all “3-piece” sets: one table and two seats. That is the right size for two people. If you want to seat four, you need a different table.
Table size and floor space
The VECELO table is 31.5 by 21 inches (a depth of 21 inches and a height of 29.9 inches on its page). The HOOBRO table is 31.5 inches long, 23.6 inches wide and 29.5 inches high. The Homeiju table is 23.6 by 23.6 inches and the whole set is listed at 37.8 inches high.
The tabletop areas are 31.5 × 21 = 661.5 square inches for the VECELO (about 4.6 square feet), 31.5 × 23.6 = 743.4 square inches for the HOOBRO (about 5.2 square feet) and 23.6 × 23.6 = 557 square inches for the Homeiju (about 3.9 square feet). The square table is the smallest, and the HOOBRO has the most surface.
As our own planning estimate, allow about 24 inches of table width per diner for plates and elbows. A 23.6 inch table is about one place setting deep for each person, which is why a 21 inch depth is tight for two people facing each other, who then share a few inches in the middle.
Walkway and clearance
The seats need room to pull out. The HOOBRO listing says its stools tuck under the table when not in use. The VECELO listing says the backrests of the two chairs fit the curve of the table edge to save space. The Homeiju listing says its stools are stackable.
A worked example with invented numbers. Your nook is 48 inches wide. The HOOBRO table at 31.5 inches leaves 48 − 31.5 = 16.5 inches, or 8.25 inches each side if centered. That is too little to pull a chair out sideways, so you would pull the stools out toward the open side. Our own estimate is that you want roughly 30 inches of clear floor on the side where you walk in, but that is not a published standard, so measure your own route.
Table height and seat height
The HOOBRO table is 29.5 inches high and its stools are 17.7 inches high, so the gap from seat to tabletop is 29.5 − 17.7 = 11.8 inches. That is a normal dining gap; we use roughly 10 to 12 inches as a planning estimate. The VECELO table is 29.9 inches high; the seat height was not recorded. The Homeiju set is 37.8 inches high overall, which makes it a pub or bar height table, and its stool height was not recorded.
A pub-height table is the wrong height for a standard chair. If you want normal chairs, choose the first two, not the Homeiju. If you want bar stools, see bar stools with backs.
Seats
The HOOBRO stools are 15.7 inches long, 11.8 inches wide and 17.7 inches high, which are small, backless seats. The Homeiju stools are 15.8 by 11.2 inches, stackable, with footrests. The VECELO set includes two chairs with backrests that match the curved table, but their size was not recorded.
A small seat is fine for breakfast and tiring for long meals. If you plan to sit for an hour, a chair with a back is more comfortable; see most comfortable dining room chairs.
Materials and weight
The VECELO set is wood grain on metal, with a built-in shelf under the tabletop and a listed weight of 28.6 pounds. The HOOBRO set is particleboard and metal. The Homeiju listing is inconsistent: its bullets say a steel frame with a solid wood tabletop, while its material field says engineered wood. The listed weight is 22 pounds.
Particleboard and engineered wood are common at this size and do not like standing water. Check that the finish is easy to wipe. None of the listings gives a weight limit for the table in the text we read.
Storage and extras
The VECELO table has a shelf beneath the top for small items. The Homeiju stools have footrests. The HOOBRO set has a crossbar for stability. These are small things, and a shelf under a 21 inch table means less knee room.
Assembly
The HOOBRO and Homeiju listings say parts are numbered and come with instructions; the Homeiju says no tools are needed. As our own estimate, a set like this takes 30 to 60 minutes to assemble.
The three listings we read
VECELO 3-Piece Dining Table Set for Kitchen Breakfast Nook, Wood Grain Oval Tabletop (ASIN B0CXXNVSNT). The listing gives a table of 31.5 by 21 by 29.9 inches, a weight of 28.6 pounds, two chairs and a built-in storage shelf. Good for: a small oval table where the chairs fit its curve. Keep in mind: the chair size and the weight limit were not recorded and the table is only 21 inches deep. The page showed an Add to Cart button.
HOOBRO 3-Piece Industrial Dining Table Set, Kitchen Table, Space Saving Dinette (ASIN B0D81ZH56C). The listing gives a table of 31.5 by 23.6 by 29.5 inches, stools of 15.7 by 11.8 by 17.7 inches and a particleboard and metal build. The stools tuck under. Good for: the biggest tabletop of the three and a standard table height. Keep in mind: the stools have no backs and no weight limit was recorded. The page showed an Add to Cart button.
Homeiju Bar Table and Chairs Set, Square Bar Table with 2 Stools (ASIN B0DYNTL2B4). The listing gives a 23.6 by 23.6 inch table, an overall height of 37.8 inches, stackable 15.8 by 11.2 inch stools with footrests and a weight of 22 pounds. Good for: the smallest footprint. Keep in mind: it is pub height and the material description is inconsistent. The page showed an Add to Cart button.
Mistakes to avoid
Do not buy a pub-height set if you want regular chairs. Do not forget the depth of the table. Do not assume the stools tuck under without checking the apron height. And do not buy before you measure the nook with the seats pulled out.
Who should skip a small nook set
If you want to seat more than two, a larger table is better. If you have a built-in nook with a bench, a free-standing set may not suit it. If you eat long meals, a table 21 to 24 inches deep with backless stools is not comfortable.
Frequently asked questions
How big is a breakfast nook table?
The three sets we read have tables from 23.6 by 23.6 inches to 31.5 by 23.6 inches. They seat two.
Will the chairs tuck under?
The HOOBRO listing says the stools tuck under; the VECELO says the chair backs fit the table edge. Check the apron height.
Is a pub height set the same as a dining set?
No. The Homeiju listing is 37.8 inches high overall, which is taller than a standard 29 to 30 inch table.
How much space do I need around a nook table?
As our planning estimate, about 30 inches clear on the walking side. Measure your own route.
What weight can the table hold?
None of the three listings states a weight limit in the text we read, so ask the seller.
Bottom line
Choose a breakfast nook with chairs by table size, table height, seat style and the floor you can spare. Of the three sets, the VECELO is the oval table with chairs that follow its curve, the HOOBRO has the biggest top and tuck-under stools and the Homeiju is the smallest, at pub height. Measure the nook with the seats pulled out before you order.
