Quick answer

A folding table and chairs set is the answer when you need seating for four now and floor space tomorrow. Three things separate the sets: how big the table is, how many chairs come in the box and whether the table and chairs fold flat or the table is a drop leaf that stays assembled. Listings also differ on what “set” means, so check the contents line before you order.

We read three Amazon listings on 2026-10-01: the Office Star Resin 5-piece folding square table and chair set (ASIN B0015TX0MU), the BOOSDEN folding card table and chairs set (B0C65G8SW6) and the FUNROLUX drop leaf folding dining table with chairs (B0D8HST17K). They are examples of what to compare, not a ranking. We have not tested or sat at any of them, and we do not show prices; check the current price on Amazon. Every number comes from the listings.

For tables that stay up but are small, see space saving dining table with chairs, fold away dining table and chairs and indoor cafe table and chairs. For benches, see outdoor dining bench.

What is in the box

The Office Star listing is a 5-piece set: one square table and four folding chairs. The BOOSDEN listing says “2 pack” in its title and describes a folding table and chair set that arrives fully assembled; the listing does not make clear in the text we read whether the pack is one table with chairs or two sets, so ask the seller. The FUNROLUX listing has variants: its comparison table shows options with 4 chairs, with 2 chairs and with no chairs included.

The FUNROLUX title says “with 4 chairs”, but an option without chairs is on the same page, so check the variant you select. A table that is sold with no chairs is not a bargain when the chairs are the point.

Table size and how many it seats

The Office Star table is 36 by 36 inches and 29 inches high, which is 36 × 36 = 1,296 square inches, about 9 square feet. Each of its chairs is 17.75 inches wide and 17.5 inches deep and 34.5 inches high. The BOOSDEN set lists dimensions of 18.3 by 38.2 by 27.6 inches (depth, width, height) and a weight of 8.8 kilograms, which is about 19.4 pounds; those dimensions are probably the table, since a table 38.2 inches long and 18.3 inches deep would suit two people. The FUNROLUX table opens to 60 inches wide by 31.5 inches deep and is 28 inches high; its capacity row says 2, 4 or 6.

A worked example with invented numbers. A 36 inch square table gives 36 inches of edge per side. One chair 17.75 inches wide per side leaves 36 − 17.75 = 18.25 inches spare, so four chairs fit with elbow room. Two chairs per side would need 2 × 17.75 = 35.5 inches, which leaves only 0.5 inches, so it would be a squeeze. The 60 by 31.5 FUNROLUX table has 60 inches on its long side; as our own planning estimate, allow about 24 inches per adult, so it seats about 2 per long side and 1 at each end, which is 6 on a loose count.

Room around the table

Chairs have to pull out. A 36 inch table with a 17.5 inch deep chair on each side, pulled out fully, takes about 36 + 17.5 + 17.5 = 71 inches across by our simple sum, which is an upper bound, because chairs tuck partly under the table. As our own planning estimate, add a few more inches for walking. A set that sits in a 6 by 6 foot nook (72 inches) is tight but possible.

Weight and carrying

The Office Star set weighs 44 pounds in total, which includes the four chairs and the table. The BOOSDEN weighs about 19.4 pounds. The FUNROLUX listing did not give a weight in the text we read; it is a solid wood drop leaf table with drawers and casters, which will be much heavier than the other two.

Folding furniture is light, and a light chair is easy to tip. The FUNROLUX has four casters, which the listing says glide for cleaning and room reconfiguration; check whether the casters lock.

Folding, storage and chair storage

The Office Star table and chairs fold flat, and the listing describes the frames as lightweight and portable. The BOOSDEN listing says each piece folds flat to store in a corner or closet. The FUNROLUX is a drop leaf table rather than a flat-folding one, and its listing says a storage shelf holds up to four folding chairs underneath the table when not in use, along with two drawers.

A set that folds flat goes in a closet. A set that stays in the room needs to be a piece of furniture you like looking at, and the FUNROLUX is built for that.

Materials and use

The Office Star set has a resin tabletop, which the listing says is waterproof, scratch resistant and impact resistant, on powder-coated steel tubes, and says the set suits indoor or outdoor use and is approved for commercial use. The BOOSDEN set has a steel frame with a triangular design and a PU leather table surface, which the listing says is waterproof and wipes clean. The FUNROLUX is multi-layer solid wood, per its listing.

A resin top shrugs off spills and is not warm to look at. PU leather wipes clean and can crack at the folds with age, which is a general property and not a claim from the listings. Solid wood looks best and is the only one of the three that needs a coaster.

Warranty and commercial use

The Office Star listing says a manufacturer warranty of 10 years on material and workmanship. The other two listings did not state a warranty in the text we read. A long warranty is a point in the Office Star’s favor, and a seller’s claim of commercial approval is just a claim; if that matters to you, check the document.

Weight limits

None of the three listings gave a table or chair weight limit in the text we read. For a folding chair that you sit on for a meal, ask the seller. A card table that holds plates and cards is different from one that holds a person.

The three listings we read

Office Star Resin 5-Piece Folding Square Table and Chair Set, Light Grey (ASIN B0015TX0MU). The listing gives a table of 36 by 36 by 29 inches, chairs of 17.75 by 17.5 by 34.5 inches, a weight of 44 pounds, a resin top on a steel frame and a 10 year warranty. Good for: four chairs and a square table in one box. Keep in mind: no weight limit was recorded. The page showed an Add to Cart button.

BOOSDEN Folding Card Table and Chairs Set for Indoor Outdoor, 2 Pack, Black (ASIN B0C65G8SW6). The listing gives 18.3 by 38.2 by 27.6 inches, a weight of about 19.4 pounds, a steel frame with a triangular design, a PU leather surface and “no assembly”. Good for: the lightest set and the quickest to open. Keep in mind: it is small and the pack contents are unclear. The page showed an Add to Cart button.

FUNROLUX Space Saving Folding Dining Table with 4 Chairs, Wood Extendable Drop Leaf (ASIN B0D8HST17K). The listing gives 60 by 31.5 inches open, a height of 28 inches, solid wood, two drawers, a storage shelf for the chairs, four casters and variants with 4, 2 or no chairs. Good for: the biggest table and chair storage built in. Keep in mind: it is a drop leaf, not a flat-folding set, and when we read the page it showed no Add to Cart button.

Mistakes to avoid

Do not assume “with chairs” means four chairs. Do not forget to pull the chairs out when you measure the room. Do not sit on a card table. And do not ignore the warranty on a set you will fold every week.

Who should skip a folding set

If you use the table every day, a fixed table is steadier. If you need a wide, deep table, a standard table is better. If your floor is slick, light folding chairs may slide.

Bottom line

Choose a folding table and chairs set by table size, chair count and what actually folds flat. Of the three listings, the Office Star is the 36 inch square table with four chairs and a 10 year warranty, the BOOSDEN is the light, small, pre-assembled set with unclear pack contents and the FUNROLUX is the large wooden drop leaf with chair storage. Check the contents line and measure the room.
