Quick answer

An RV is a weight-limited, space-limited room, so the best RV chair is rarely the biggest comfortable one. Check four numbers: the weight, the width you must get through the door, the floor space (including recline) and whether the chair needs a power outlet. A folding chair weighs little and stores flat; a swivel recliner is a middle option; a power recliner is heavy and needs electricity.

We read three Amazon listings on 2026-10-01: the MCombo swivel recliner with ottoman that lists RV use (ASIN B09S5RMNPG), the Naomi Home Chicago power recliner (B0DYJTSRRZ) and a Lavish Home set of 2 folding zero gravity chairs (B098FBXKCZ). They are examples of what to compare, not a ranking. We have not tested or sat in any of them, and we do not show prices; check the current price on Amazon. Every number comes from the listings.

For indoor recliners generally, see recliners, zero gravity recliner and power lift recliners. For rockers, see rocker recliner.

Weight comes first

A motorhome or trailer has a cargo capacity listed by the maker, and a heavy chair eats into it. Look for the rating on your RV; we do not know it. What the listings give us is each chair’s weight: 45.2 pounds for the MCombo swivel recliner, 127.9 pounds for the Naomi power recliner and 35.4 pounds for the pair of Lavish Home folding chairs.

Sizing example with sample numbers. You want two chairs. Two MCombo recliners weigh 2 × 45.2 = 90.4 pounds. Two Naomi power recliners weigh 2 × 127.9 = 255.8 pounds, which is 255.8 − 90.4 = 165.4 pounds more. The pair of Lavish folding chairs is a single 35.4 pound item for both. If your cargo allowance is tight, the difference between 35 and 256 pounds is large, and furniture is only one thing on the list.

The door and the floor

Furniture has to get through the RV door, which is often narrower than a house door. We do not know your door width, so measure it. The Naomi listing gives a minimum required door width of 36.61 inches, which is also the chair’s listed width. The MCombo listing gives a width of 33 inches and a depth of 51.2 inches; the Lavish chairs fold to 25 by 5.5 by 37 inches.

For floor space, the Naomi listing gives a depth of 40.16 inches, a reclined length of 40.16 inches and a wall clearance of 40.16 inches, which suggests a wall-hugger design that needs little space behind it. The MCombo’s 51.2 inch depth probably includes the ottoman, and the listing does not give a reclined length.

As a rule of thumb, add a few inches each side for walking and a swivel’s turning room. Draw the chair’s footprint on the floor with tape before you order.

Power

A power recliner needs an outlet. The Naomi listing mentions a powered recliner with LED lights, speakers, a wireless charger console, USB charging, cup holders and detachable tray tables. In an RV, a plugged-in recliner draws power from shore power, a generator or an inverter. We do not know your setup, and the listing gives no wattage in the part we read.

If you camp without hookups, a manual swivel recliner or a folding chair is the sure choice. The MCombo recliner is a manual recliner with a 360 degree swivel and a vibration massage feature, so check how that feature is powered.

Weight ratings

The MCombo listing is inconsistent: its comparison table says a weight capacity of 330 pounds, while its detail field says a maximum weight recommendation of 300 pounds. The Naomi listing says a maximum of 900 pounds in its detail field, which looks wrong for a single seat; we do not quote it as a rating. The Lavish chairs list 300 pounds per chair.

Sizing example. A 250 pound user on a 300 pound rating has 50 pounds of headroom, which is 50 ÷ 300 ≈ 16.7 percent. If the real rating is 330, the headroom is 80 pounds. When the listing contradicts itself, use the lower number.

Seat size

The MCombo listing gives a seat height of 19.7 inches, a seat depth of 19.7 inches, a backrest width of 23 inches and an arm height of 24.6 inches. The Naomi listing gives a seat depth of 22.83 inches and a width of 36.61 inches overall. The Lavish listing gives open dimensions of 63.5 by 25 by 43 inches.

A 19.7 inch seat depth suits shorter legs; a taller person may find it shallow. The 63.5 inch open length of the Lavish chair is long, because it is a lounger, not a seat.

Storage and folding

The folding chairs are the only ones that go away. The Lavish pair folds to 25 by 5.5 by 37 inches, about 25 × 5.5 × 37 ≈ 5,088 cubic inches each by our arithmetic if the figure is per chair, which the listing does not say. If you want to clear the floor for sleeping or cooking, a folding chair is a good fit.

The recliners stay out. In a small RV, a swivel recliner can double as a seat at a table or in front of a TV, and the Naomi’s size makes that harder.

Materials

The MCombo recliner is chenille over a metal frame, which is textile and not wipe-clean. The Naomi recliner is faux leather. The Lavish chairs use powder-coated steel and Textilene fabric, which dries quickly. If you camp with pets or in damp weather, an easy-clean surface helps.

Rattle and travel

A chair that is not secured can slide or tip when the RV is in motion. None of the listings describes a travel lock or tie-down. Plan on securing a recliner or storing it, and on removing loose cushions. That is our general advice, not a claim from the listings.

The three listings we read

MCombo Swivel Recliner with Ottoman, TV Chair with Vibration Massage, Ideal for RV Small Space (ASIN B09S5RMNPG). The listing gives 51.2 by 33 by 42.9 inches, a weight of 45.2 pounds, a seat height and depth of 19.7 inches, a 360 degree swivel and a chenille cover, with a rating of 300 or 330 pounds depending on the field. Good for: a light swivel recliner with an ottoman. Keep in mind: the rating is inconsistent and the page showed no Add to Cart button from our location.

Naomi Home Chicago Power Recliner Chair with LED Lights, USB Charging Port (ASIN B0DYJTSRRZ). The listing gives 40.16 by 36.61 by 42.91 inches, a weight of 127.9 pounds, a reclined length of 40.16 inches, a wall hugger design, a minimum door width of 36.61 inches and a limited warranty. Good for: a compact reclined length with a lot of features. Keep in mind: it is heavy, needs power and the weight-capacity field looks wrong. The page showed no Add to Cart button from our location.

Lavish Home Set of 2 Zero-Gravity Chairs, Folding Patio Furniture (ASIN B098FBXKCZ). The listing gives 63.5 by 25 by 43 inches open, 25 by 5.5 by 37 inches folded, a 300 pound capacity per chair, a weight of 35.4 pounds and a steel and Textilene build, with side tables and a cup holder. Good for: light, foldable seating for two. Keep in mind: it is an outdoor lounger and the listing does not say how it works indoors. The page showed an Add to Cart button.

Mistakes to avoid

Do not forget to compare each chair’s weight. Do not assume a chair that fits a living room fits an RV door. Do not buy a power recliner without a power plan. And do not trust a weight rating that contradicts itself.

Who should skip a recliner in an RV

If your cargo allowance is tight, a folding chair is lighter. If you camp off-grid, a power recliner is risky. If your door is narrow, check the width first, because many house recliners will not fit.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best chair for an RV?

It depends on weight, door width and power. A folding chair is lightest; a swivel recliner is a middle option.

How heavy is an RV recliner?

The two recliners we read list 45.2 and 127.9 pounds, and the folding pair 35.4 pounds.

Can I use a power recliner in an RV?

Only with a suitable power source. Check the listing and your RV.

How do I know if a chair fits my RV door?

Measure the door and compare with the chair’s width and depth. The Naomi listing gives a minimum door width of 36.61 inches.

Do I need to secure a chair when driving?

It is wise. The listings do not describe a travel lock.

Bottom line

Choose RV chairs by weight, door width, floor space and power need. Of the three listings, the MCombo is the light swivel recliner with a contradictory rating, the Naomi is the heavy power recliner with a wall hugger design and the Lavish pair is the folding option that stores flat. Weigh and measure before you order.
