An L-shaped standing desk turns a corner into a workspace that also moves, but it takes more floor and more work to place than a straight desk. Of the two we compared, the Acrolix 51 by 31.5 inch desk gives the clearest specifications (28.3 to 46.4 inches, 176 lb, three memory presets), and the Grandder 47-inch desk is the more compact, with a curved cut-out and side hooks but fewer stated details. If your corner is smaller than about 50 inches on one wall, a straight desk or a converter is the safer choice.

We have not tested these desks. Sizes and features come from the Amazon listings, checked on September 29, 2026. Where the listing does not say, we say so.

Both give a quiet-motor figure under 45 dB. That is a maker’s figure, and it is not measured in the same way across brands, so treat it as a rough claim rather than a comparison.

Will an L-shaped desk fit your corner?

Measure the free length along each wall from the corner, ignoring doors, windows and radiators, and add room for the chair. Then enter the two numbers below. The Acrolix listing gives a 51 by 31.5 inch footprint and can be installed with the long side on either wall. The Grandder listing gives only a 47-inch figure, so we can only check that one wall.

    The two desks

Acrolix L-Shaped Electric Standing Desk, 51 x 31.5 Inch, Reversible

    51 x 31.5 in · 28.3″ to 46.4″ · 176 lb stated

The listing describes a reversible L, so the long side can go on the left or right, with a dual-crossbar steel frame, a stated capacity of 176 lb, three memory presets and a motor rated under 45 dB. It also lists a rotating cup holder, a headphone hook and cable clips.

    • Good for: a corner with 51 inches on one wall and about 32 inches on the other, and a setup with more than one screen.
    • Keep in mind: it needs two people to build in 30 to 60 minutes, takes a lot of floor, and its lowest height of 28.3 inches is above the sitting estimate for most people.

Grandder 47-Inch L-Shaped Electric Standing Desk

    47 in · curved cut-out · under 45 dB

A more compact L with a curved cut-out and rounded corners meant to let you sit closer to your screens. The listing mentions two side hooks, a motor under 45 dB, 55,000 lift cycles tested by the maker and a complete hardware kit for assembly in about 30 minutes.

    • Good for: a tight corner where 47 inches is the longest wall you have.
    • Keep in mind: the listing text we read does not give a height range, a weight capacity or the depth of the wings, so confirm these on the product page before buying.

    How to choose

    • Measure both walls and subtract doors, windows and radiators. The tool above compares them.
    • Leave room for the chair. An L-shaped desk fills the corner and the chair has to sit in front of it. Our chair fit guide explains how to check chair and desk clearance.
    • Check the height range against your body. If the lowest height is above your sitting estimate, plan a footrest. Our desk height guide shows how.
    • Add up the load. Multiple screens are heavier than one. Use the stated capacity, and treat a missing one as a gap.
    • Plan cables and outlets in the corner. See our cable management guide.
    • If the corner is small, a straight desk or a corner converter is easier. See our standing desk guide and converter guide.

For a fixed corner desk without the motor, see our corner desk guide.

    Frequently asked questions

Are L-shaped standing desks good for small rooms?

Only if you have a free corner large enough. They add surface, but they take more floor than a straight desk.

What size L-shaped standing desk fits a small apartment?

Measure your corner first. The smaller L-shaped desks we found are about 47 to 51 inches on the long side.

What does reversible mean on an L-shaped desk?

It means you can install the wing on the left or the right to suit your corner.

Are L-shaped standing desks hard to assemble?

They are larger than straight desks. One listing suggests two people for 30 to 60 minutes.

Do I need a footrest with a standing desk?

If the lowest height is above your sitting estimate, a footrest helps you keep your feet supported.
