For a small room, the FEZIBO 32-inch is the most compact of the three electric standing desks we compared, the Sweetcrispy 40 by 24 inch gives the most surface for one monitor, and the HUANUO 32 by 21 inch adds desktop drawers. All three list nearly the same height range, about 28.3 to 46.5 inches, and that matters more than it looks: the low end is higher than the estimated sitting height for most people, so you may need a footrest.

We have not tested these desks. The sizes, height ranges and features below come from the Amazon listings, checked on September 29, 2026, and we say when a listing does not state something.

Noise figures come from each maker and are not measured the same way, so do not treat 45 versus 55 dB as a like-for-like comparison. Metrics that are not measured the same way should not be ranked against each other.

Does the desk’s low end suit your height?

All three desks list a lowest height of about 28.3 to 28.7 inches. Our planning estimate for a sitting desk is about 39 percent of your height (see our desk height guide), which is 25.7 inches at 5 ft 6 in and 28.1 inches at 6 ft. Put your height in below to see how each desk compares.

Check your height against the three desks

Enter your height in inches. The tool compares our planning estimates with each desk’s listed height range.

Planning estimates of 39 and 63 percent of your height, with one inch of tolerance. Not a standard. A footrest lets you sit at a higher desk with your feet supported, as OSHA suggests when the desk height cannot be adjusted.

    The three desks

FEZIBO 32-Inch Small Electric Standing Desk

    32" x 19" top · 28.3" to 46.5" · 176 lb stated

The most compact of the three, with a 32 by 19 inch desktop that the listing describes as suited to apartments, bedrooms and dorm rooms. The listing states a steel frame, three memory presets, a stated noise level under 45 dB and 50,000 lift cycles tested by the maker.

    • Good for: a laptop setup or one small monitor in the tightest space.
    • Keep in mind: 19 inches of depth is shallow for a monitor, keyboard and a comfortable viewing distance, and the lowest height of 28.3 inches is above the sitting estimate for most people.

Sweetcrispy 40 x 24 Inch Electric Standing Desk

    40" x 24" top · 28.7" to 46.5" · 176 lb stated

The largest desktop in the group, a 40 by 24 inch dual-panel top that gives more room for one monitor plus a laptop. The listing states a steel frame with wide T-shaped legs, three memory presets, a stated noise level under 55 dB and tool-free assembly.

    • Good for: one monitor and a laptop when you have 40 inches of wall.
    • Keep in mind: it takes the most floor width and has the highest lowest height (28.7 inches), so it suits taller people better.

HUANUO 32 x 21 Inch Electric Standing Desk with Drawers

    32" x 21" top · 28.3" to 46.5" · 4 presets

This one adds two desktop drawers and an open cubby for a keyboard and small items, plus a rear platform edge that the listing says accepts a C-clamp monitor mount, and two hooks. It lists four height presets.

    • Good for: a small room where you want storage on the desk and a monitor arm.
    • Keep in mind: the bullet points we read did not state a weight capacity, so confirm it on the product page before adding a heavy monitor and drawers full of items.

How to choose a standing desk for a small room

    • Depth first. Keep at least 20 inches between your eyes and the screen, which OSHA gives as the minimum viewing distance (OSHA monitor guidance). A 24-inch deep desk gives you more freedom than a 19-inch one.
    • Low-end height. If the desk's lowest setting is above your sitting height, plan a footrest and a higher chair. Use the tool above.
    • Load. Add up the desk items (monitor, arm, laptop, drawers full of things) and compare with the stated capacity. If the listing does not state one, treat that as missing.
    • Leg room in both positions. OSHA suggests generally 20 to 28 inches of height under the desktop. See our standing vs fixed desk comparison for what to check.
    • Cable slack. Plan the cables so the desk can rise without pulling on plugs. See our cable management guide.
    • Space above. Check shelves and window sills above the desk at full height.

If you do not need a moving desk, a fixed compact desk is simpler. See our compact desk picks.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the smallest standing desk?

Among the three we compared, the FEZIBO 32 by 19 inch desk has the smallest desktop, but many small standing desks and converters exist. Check that the depth still lets you sit at least 20 inches from the screen.

    Are small standing desks stable?

Stability depends on the frame and load, and it is usually worst at full height. Check the stated capacity and read recent buyer feedback about wobble.

What height should a standing desk start at?

Low enough to reach your sitting height. Our planning estimate is about 39 percent of your height, so a desk that starts at 28.3 inches suits people about 6 feet tall, and shorter people may need a footrest.

Do I need a footrest with a standing desk?

If the lowest height is above your sitting estimate, a footrest lets you keep your feet supported, as OSHA suggests when desk height cannot be adjusted.

Do standing desks fit in small rooms?

Many have the footprint of a compact desk. Check leg room, cable slack and the space above at full height.
